Why Wear A Wetsuit?

Contrary to popular belief, wetsuits are not just for scuba divers! They provide comfort, warmth and protection for any water-based activity.
How does it work?

Wetsuits, made of neoprene, trap a thin layer of water between the skin and suit. This water warms to body temperature, creating insulation. Without it, the body loses heat quickly, as water conducts heat 25–40 times faster than air.
What are they used for?

They are most often worn for swimming, surfing, bodyboarding and water-skiing, but are also great for paddling on the beach.
How should they fit?

A wetsuit should be a tight fitting, second skin to keep a thin layer of water between your body and the suit. Avoid sagging at the back or bunching at the arms & legs. The fit should also allow flexibility and movement.
